Gurfateh Singh Pirzada: ‘Brahmastra Was Actually Supposed To Be My First Big Acting Gig’-EXCLUSIVE
Gurfateh Singh Pirzada became a household name last year with the Kiara Advani-starrer Netflix film, Guilty. In the film, he played Kiara’s boyfriend accused of sexually assaulting a fellow student at their college, and received rave reviews for his portrayal.

Soon after, the actor was signed by Karan Johar under his new talent wing, DCA, and this year he was also seen in Anshuman Jha and Zareen Khan’s Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele. Recently, Gurfateh had his first big music video release with Dhvani Bhanushali’s Mehendi. Next up, he has Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra in pipeline opposite Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Mouni Roy.

Ask him about the film, and he quips, “Brahmastra was actually supposed to be my first big acting gig. I was 21 at that time and now I am about to be 26 in a month’s time."

However, Gurfateh insists that the whole experience of working on the film has been knowledgeable to say the least. “It was great to be a young person on such a huge set with talents like Mr Bachchan, Ranbir, Alia and Ayan Mukerji. In the beginning, you do feel a bit lost because you know it takes time to find your place, but overall, the experience was awesome. If I hadn’t done Brahmastra, I might not have gotten Guilty and not met Karan sir. Then he might have not taken me under DCA and I would have never gotten the offers that I have lined up in the future years. It’s all like a domino effect,” he concludes.
